Welcome to Briars Blog

Hello and welcome to the firt post on Briars Blog.
Briars Bridleways was set up by a group of Horse Riders in the Cynon valley to address the complete lack of off road access for horse riders throughout Rhondda Cynon Taff.

We have been running for 9 months now and are now working with the local council and the Forestry Commission aswell as other horse riding groups in RCT.

We hold regular monthly meetings and fun rides.

There is a meeting tonight in the Lamb in Penderyn @ 7.30 pm. Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of every month.

I am going to a meeting tonight with horse riders from the Treherbert area. They have issues with the lack of access to off road riding at the top end of the valley. There are possibilities of linking Treherbert with top end of the Cynon Valley. The group in Treherbert have worked with the Forestry Commission in the past but there is still more to do.

The meeting in Treherbert was very constructive. The horse riders there are going to look at existing bridleways and see what can be done to improve the access. Hopefully this will lead to a link from the top end of Treherbert to the Cynon Valley at Rhigos.
